Symptoms: Hoarseness or Other Voice Changes, A Lump in the Neck, Sore Throat, Persistent Cough, Stridor (Abnormal, High-Pitched, Musical Breathing Sound Caused by a Blockage in the Throat or Larynx), Bad Breath, Earache.
Definition:
Laryngeal cancer may also be called cancer of the larynx or laryngeal carcinoma. Most of the laryngeal cancers are squamous cell carcinomas, reflecting their origin from the squamous cells which form the majority of the laryngeal epithelium and most laryngeal cancers originate in the glottis. Laryngeal cancer may spread by metastasis to regional cervical lymph nodes, or more distantly through the blood stream and distant metastasis to the lung are most common. Risk Factors: Smoking is the most important risk factor for laryngeal cancer, Heavy chronic consumption of alcohol.
