Facial Palsy

Symptoms: Rapid Onset of Mild Weakness to Total Paralysis on One Side of the Face-Occurring within Hours to Days, Drooping Eyebrow and Mouth and Difficulty in Making Facial Expressions such as Smiling or Closing of Eyes, Drooling from One Side of the Mouth, Difficulty in Closing the Eyelid of the Affected Side which Cause Eye Dryness.

Definition:

Facial palsy is the inability to move the muscles on one or both side of the face due to nerve damage. Possible cause includes inflammation, trauma, stroke or tumors. It happens when the seventh cranial nerve becomes damages, resulting in loss of facial movements unilaterally or bilaterally.
