Plant Developed Analytical Profile of Stereospermum suaveolens in Indian Traditional Knowledge

Abstract:
Stereospermum suaveolens (Roxb.) DC. is used in folk medicine for the treatment of diabetes, pain, fever, inflammations and asthma. The major phytoconstituents found in the plant bark are lapachol and apigenin exhibit various pharmacological activities. To ensure the content of uniformity of biomarkers, the aim of the present study was to develop a robust RP-HPLC method for simultaneous estimation of lapachol and apigenin in the bark of Stereospermum suaveolens. The developed method was accurate, specific, precise and reproducible.
