Biological Management of Prominent Weeds of Glycin Max Employing Indigenous Microbes

Publication Year: 2024

Author(s): Ranu S

Abstract:

The focus of the present investigations oriented towards the use of secondary metabolites of fungal strain as eco-friendly bio-herbicides for the management of weeds in Leguminous crop field. It is apparent from the present investigations that the toxin isolated from fungus was novel and exhibited potential to be exploited as natural bio-herbicides for some of the problematic weeds of Glycine max crop. It was also found that these novel molecules enhanced the bio-herbicidal potential of the producing organism when used synergistically in the form of a formulation. Moreover the phytotoxins are safe as compared to synthetic chemicals currently being used in weed management.
