Publication Year: 2009

Author(s): Nagnur S , Channal G ,N C

Abstract:

Indigenous knowledge is the tried and tested knowledge of the local communities. Although the knowledge has been in use since long years, it has never been really documented. The native cultures and knowledge of plants and their use is fast disappearing. India, recognizing the danger of this loss of precious indigenous knowledge is actively trying to salvage for the benefit of all humanity as much of it as possible before it is forever entombed with the cultures that gave it birth. This study attempts to document the home remedies for gastrointestinal problems in Haveri district of Karnataka state.
