Abstract:

The panel discussion focused on indigenous knowledge systems, with special emphasis on the North Eastern Region and Nagaland. Moderated by Dr. Hewasa L. Khing, the session featured Dr. Dolly Kikon, Mr. Kevisato Sanyu, and Dr. Ketoukhrie-U. The panellists highlighted the need for inclusive education, preservation of traditional institutions such as the Morung, integration of indigenous knowledge into mainstream education, and the use of technology to strengthen teachers’ capabilities. They also emphasized connecting communities with their roots, conserving natural resources, and ensuring the continuity and regeneration of indigenous knowledge and communities.
