Abstract:
The Addressing agriculture, forestry and fisheries in National Adaptation Plans - Supplementary guidelines (referred to hereafter as the NAP–Ag Guidelines) accompany the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Technical Guidelines prepared by the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) of the UNFCCC, by providing specific guidance for the agricultural sectors. The term ‘agriculture sectors’ used throughout the document refers to crop–based farming systems and livestock systems, including rangelands and pasturelands; forestry;1 and fisheries. The fisheries sector includes capture fisheries (fish caught from wild stocks in marine, coastal, off–shore and freshwater ecosystems) and aquaculture (the breeding, rearing and harvesting of plants and animals in all types of aquatic environments).
