Abstract:
Traditional Biomedical Knowledge (TBK) is a continuous process of creation, development and refinement of biology and medicine assimilated together. Today, modern science is practiced within prescribed framework of norms and rules while traditional knowledge is often considered as extraneous. Consequently, there is a wall between traditional knowledge and modern science. The fragile TBK knowledge system needs to be protected and enhanced through national policies and international programmes to conserve and maintain evolutionary process. Mainstream educational and research systems may play a significant role on this issue, which it has neglected so far.
