Abstract:

This innovative compilation is positioned within frameworks that rigorously examine and explore the connections between Indigenous communities and the extraction of natural resources. These linkages raise significant inquiries within the framework of Indigenous-industry partnerships in various resource-abundant countries like Australia and Canada, as well as locations such as Africa and Latin America. In addition to considering domestic legal and political frameworks, the collection also analyzes, navigates, and utilizes international instruments, such as the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the various forms of agreements between Indigenous communities and industries.
