Abstract:

This Guidance has been developed to assist in applying the TEEBAgriFood Evaluation Framework (2018a). By following the Guidance and using the reference materials provided in this document, you can expect to have an assessment that can be used to comprehensively assess an eco-agri-food system. A core feature of the Guidance is a multiple capitals-based approach to systems thinking, which includes natural, human, social, and produced capital. This integrated approach enables you to articulate and explore the full range of visible and invisible connections that agricultural and food systems have with humans and the environment in eco-agri-food systems. Taking a capitals-based approach can strengthen the quality of an assessment and reveal pathways for addressing issues within eco-agri-food systems and agri-food value chains.
