Abstract:

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have made it clear that peace, planet, partnership, prosperity and people are linked. To get the most out of these and make the most of them, it's important to understand how they work together. SDGs are being studied more and more, but there's not enough coverage of SDG 16. This publication follows up on the first groundbreaking study 'Connections that matter: how the quality of governance institutions may be the key to reducing poverty and inequality' on how SDG 16 links up with SDGs 1 (no poverty) and 10 (reduce inequality). This second study on SDG 16-Life Below Water is published by the Oslo Governance Center and IDOS.
