This study illustrates that Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) women are important agents of change for climate action and have been using their Traditional Knowledge and Technology (TKT) to build the resilience of their communities to climate and other shocks. It also reviews examples of good practices in terms of initiatives that have supported gender-responsive integration of TKT and empowerment of IPLC women in the context of climate change. This study was jointly produced by the Stakeholder Engagement and Gender Teams of the Climate Investment Funds.

On Indigenous People’s Day at COP23, UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa joined representatives of indigenous peoples assembled in Bonn, acknowledging their part in being a solution to the problem of climate change.

The video documented the success stories of direct beneficiaries under the project. The documentary shows the diversifying lifestyle of the beneficiaries with the provision of inputs and trainings as a direct positive impact of the project. By learning better techniques of poultry rearing and fruits and vegetable production, the project beneficiaries are now able to pave a better future for their next generation.
