Training tools for Curriculum Development: Reaching Out to All Learners: A Resource Pack for Supporting Inclusive Education
Publication Year: 2016
Author(s): UNESCO International Bureau of Education
Abstract:
Education systems throughout the world are faced with the challenge of providing an effective education for all children and young people. According to the 2015 Education for All Global Monitoring Report, there are about 58 million children without access to primary school and 100 million who do not complete primary education. Faced with these challenges, there is an increased interest in the idea of inclusive education. However, the field remains confused as to what inclusion means. In some countries, inclusion is still thought of as an approach to serving children with disabilities within general education settings. However, it is increasingly seen more broadly as a reform that supports and welcomes diversity among all learners.
